ServiceNow Platform Architect
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Platform Architect with extensive expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions. As a Platform Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing the architecture and delivery of end-to-end solutions, ensuring that ServiceNow applications are aligned with business needs and IT service management best practices. This program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable the customer to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities. These services will deliver exceptional execution value to internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations. Periodic travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Architecture & Strategy:
- Lead the architectural design and strategy for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business objectives
- Provide guidance on platform best practices and help define the roadmap for future enhancements and implementations
- Develop solutions for complex ITSM processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service request management, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices
- Solution Design & Implementation:
- Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows to meet business requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Lead the implementation of integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems, ensuring data consistency and system interoperability
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and other technical team members
- Oversee the technical architecture, system configuration, and platform management, ensuring compliance with IT standards and regulations
- Drive technical innovation and ensure the platform is aligned with industry trends and best practices
- Customization & Development:
- Oversee the development of custom ServiceNow applications, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and meet user expectations
- Design and develop advanced workflows, business rules, and scripting for custom requirements
- Optimize and enhance platform performance through troubleshooting, code reviews, and best practices in development
- Complete back-end support, troubleshooting, system integrations, upgrades, administration, and maintenance of the Customer’s ITSM tool(s) with a focus on user experience and productivity
- Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure proper governance of the ServiceNow platform, including change management, release management, and version control processes
- Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business owners, IT leaders, and vendors, to ensure that ServiceNow is delivering value and meeting organizational goals
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for issues related to ServiceNow applications, ensuring smooth operations
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist)
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience with ITSM practices, with at least 5+ years of experience working in the ServiceNow space
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing ServiceNow ITSM solutions, including incident, problem, change, and service request management.
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and principles
- Experience with ServiceNow platform components (e.g., Service Catalog, Discovery, CMDB, Orchestration, Virtual Agent, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development, including scripting (JavaScript), UI policies, business rules, and workflows
- Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM modules and best practices.
- Strong architectural skills with the ability to design scalable, robust, and efficient solutions
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Qualifications: One or more of the following certifications: Security+, ITIL 4 Foundation, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), or Microsoft Certification. Ability to create dashboards, reports, changes, and upgrades with an ITSM tool (i.e. ServiceNow, Remedy)
Clearance: Secret; must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
