Position Location: United States Army Cyber Command - Fort Gordon, Augusta, GA


Description: SOFtact Solutions is seeking a principal level Cyber Engineer to join our team in providing our customers with the latest technologies in cloud, cyber, software development, and virtualization to enhance intelligence collaboration. The candidate will have a hands-on background and understanding of network, storage, and virtual desktop infrastructure deployments. This position will take on the role as Security Engineer and is a senior member of the Security Engineering team, responsible for the technical security operations supporting our customers at United States Army Cyber Command located on FT Gordon. This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Eligibility.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in IA, Cyber Security, or related technical field (Required)


Qualifications: 8+ years’ experience in Security Engineering operational and/or analysis position (Required)



  • Performance in multiple areas of information security including security monitoring, continuous monitoring and analysis, enterprise audit, security compliance, security event monitoring and analysis, data management, analytic rule development/adjustment, incident response and investigative support
  • Design, configuration, verification, validation, and technical leadership for the integration of hardware, software, and services into enterprise Information Technology systems.
  • Delivery of technical security expertise in the operation of an enterprise class system by dealing with events caused by internal and external factors and the related mitigation recommendations for issues caused by process, threat, and technology changes over time
  • Development, documentation, execution, and integration of cyber engineering processes as required to enable effective cyber engineering and integration efforts


Required Skills:

  • Experience installing and configuring virtual environments
  • Experience in cyber security tactics, techniques, and procedure
  • Incident Response experience
  • Experience working on and supporting classified networks
  • Strong working knowledge in at least five of these technologies:
    • Nutanix HCI
    • Microsoft Server 2016
    • Active Directory and DNS
    • RedHat Enterprise Linux
    • NetApp Storage Arrays
    • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
    • Host Based Security System (HBSS)
    • DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG)
    • Citrix XenDesktop
    • Nutanix


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) Server
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting HBSS products such as HIPS, VSE, and DLP
  • Experience with ACAS and the ability to operate and conduct scans and remediation on enterprise and targeted devices
  • Understanding of the basic concepts of Security Topology
  • Understanding of Microsoft Domain Name System (DNS), Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Knowledge of Splunk
  • Knowledge of Intel 2P overlays
  • Next-Generation Firewall experience
  • Change Auditor experience
  • Exchange Enforcer experience
  • Virtual host experience
  • Experience with DISA STIGs and SRGs
  • Enterprise audit aggregation, logging, and analysis experience
  • Knowledge of various operating systems like Windows and Linux

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 certification to meet IAT3 Requirements (CISSP or CASP)
