Position Location: United States Army Cyber Command - Fort Gordon, Augusta, GA

 

Description: SOFtact Solutions is seeking an intermediate level Systems Engineer to join our team in providing our customers with the latest technologies in cloud, cyber, software development, and virtualization to enhance intelligence collaboration. The Systems Engineer should have knowledge and experience with an emphasis on requirement analysis and systems design and test activities in a cloud and virtualization environment. This position is support for both dedicated Systems Engineering roles as well as short-term analysis of alternatives, proposal, and proactive customer engagements. This role requires broad and deep technology knowledge combined with the ability to help create solutions to address the customer requirements. The candidate must be able to identify, analyze, design, and document solutions as well as diagnose and identify potential performance and security related issues. This role requires a technically strong individual who has demonstrated skill in the design and deployment of enterprise class solutions who can support our customers at United States Army Cyber Command located on FT Gordon. This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph Eligibility.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related technical field (Required)

 

Qualifications: 6+ years’ experience in IT Systems Engineering (Required)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to leadership in planning and helping with selecting technologies for experimentation events
  • Install, configure, and manage virtualization environments
  • Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), etc.
  • Perform a variety of tasks to include identifying servers to be virtualized, creating test environments, server validation, converting servers, and maintaining virtual infrastructure
  • Analyze systems requirements in response to customer requirements, risks, and costs by working directly with management and system administrators
  • Evaluate new systems information technologies and their effect on the environment
  • Ensure that cyber security and OPSEC policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the operating environment
  • Integrate hardware and software components within the systems environment
  • Continually monitor and fine-tune performance of the Information Systems
  • Conduct analyses of network usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors
  • Identify adverse trends, ineffective practices or procedures, and equipment shortcomings
  • Apply Information Technology (IT) expertise including feasibility studies, technical evaluation, justification, acquisition and procurement, installation, implementation, management, and administration of IT systems
  • Configure and manage Windows operating systems
  • Manage and maintain dynamic web server environment to include but not limited to Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL, and other dynamic services
  • Provide database support for SQL databases related to mission specific applications

  • Familiarity with security related technologies such as IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, ACLs, RBAC, and ABAC
  • Experience with Intelligence and DoD Agencies
  • Experience with Thick Client and Thin Client Architectures
  • Familiarity with Virtualization such as Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix
  • Familiarity with ICD 503 Risk Management Framework
  • DOD 8570 certification
